Castione della Presolana
The International Camp Sancelso is located in Castione della Presolana, a small village in the Val Seriana mountain community that is surprisingly known for its traditional architecture, which favours natural materials such as wood and stone, and for being in the privileged position that offers an unique scenery of the Val Seriana.
It is located at the base of the Presolana massif and Mount Pora, right next to the Orobie Bergamasche Regional Park, a splendid mountain park with peaks over 3,000 m and extensive valleys and forests. It is the largest high-nature protected area in all of Lombardy, a magnificent and fascinating green zone.
Val Seriana
The Val Seriana extends for about 50 Km along the course of the Serio river: is characterised by wide flat areas, plateaus and high peaks. The entire area is extremely interesting from a geographical, geological and naturalistic point of view.
Popular in both summer and winter, the Val Seriana is a popular tourist destination in northern Italy.
During the summer camp, the children can experience the mountains by taking part in hikes throughout the area, including mountain trails, forests, green pastures, rivers and alpine lakes.
