FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
1. WHERE
Where is the Camp held?
The International Camp Sancelso is held at Castione della Presolana at the Casa Vacanze “Villa Sancelso”. L’indirizzo è:
Villa Sancelso
Via Risorgimento, 42
24020 Castione della Presolana (BG)
The Camp was once held in Bellamonte: is this location still available?
The Camp has Castione della Presolana as its only location: in this location we have organized Camps from 1968 to the early 2000s and then again from summer 2022.
2. WHEN
When is the Camp held?
The International Camp Sancelso will be held from June 22 to August 9, 2025.
Are these one week or two week periods?
We offer 3 one-week period and 3 two-week periods.
One-week periods: June 22 – 28; July 27 – August 2; August 3 – 9.
Two-week periods: June 29 – July 12; July 13 – 26; July 27 – August 9.
All periods refer to the year 2025.
What if I want to participate in longer periods (e.g. three or four weeks)?
Feel free to contact us before enrolling: together we will find the most suitable solution for your children!
3. ENGLISH
Are all the counsellors native english speakers?
Our counsellors are native English speakers or foreigners and Italians with Celta, IELTS, TOEFL or similar certifications: this ensures that the common language is necessarily English, so that our participants can experience a true full immersion in the language.
Can you see results after only one week?
A full immersion program in the language allows participants to put into practice and consolidate the experiences acquired during the school year.
Our counsellors can take advantage of every useful moment of the day (e.g. evening entertainment activities) and every opportunity (e.g. “bedtime”, “wake-up time”, choice of clothing and equipment for activities and excursions) to impart knowledge of the language. The participants’ little challenge will therefore be to relate to those in charge with a language different from their own, practising their skills and knowledge day after day.
Participating in a learning holiday, even a short one but as linguistically complete as possible, enables children and teens to assimilate the language and to learn it spontaneously.
What if my child is not a native English speaker?
No problem, English is the common language and is spoken at all levels, so you do not need to be a native speaker to participate in our Camp.
Will I always find someone to communicate with in English?
Yes, the managers and counsellors all speak English, so there will be no communication problems.
Please note: external sports activities are managed by managers who are not directly dependent on the organizers (we still guarantee full and continuous assistance) and consequently explanations are provided in Italian. However, our counsellors will always be present to translate to foreign participants.
Are there many foreign participants?
International Camp Sancelso is open to participants of all nationalities: over the years, we have hosted children and teens from all over the world (China, Japan, England, USA, Oman, Russia, Latvia, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Venezuela…); the number of foreign participants is increasing year by year (around 20% each period, and even reaching 40%), which allows us to create a truly international atmosphere!
Do the kids speak Italian among themselves?
It is normal that among the Italian participants they will always want to express themselves using their mother tongue. The “challenge” they will face during the Camp will be to relate in English with the leaders, but above all with the foreign participants: in this case, the desire to create new and very interesting international friendships will push them to practise like never before!
4. GROUPS AND FACILITY
How are the children divided?
According to age, this allows each participant to experience the camp together with their peers, with activities and rhythms adapted to each age group.
The groups, of about 20 children, are supervised by two counsellors, for a counsellor to participant ratio of about 1:10 (with the exception of the youngest groups, which will be supervised not only by two counsellors but also by an intern).
How do the children sleep in their rooms?
The division into rooms reflects the division into groups: participants will therefore only sleep in rooms with children/teens of the same group.
How many beds are in the rooms?
Four-bed rooms with private bathrooms.
Would you prefer your children to share a room with friends?
Only if the participants are the same age is it possible to request to stay in the same room.
How can I make the request?
By writing an e-mail to internationalcamp@sancelso.com indicating the enrollment period, the participants’ first name, last name and date of birth.
Do males and females sleep in the room together?
No, under no circumstances will there be mixed rooms.
Do counsellors sleep next to them
Counsellors will sleep on the same floor as participants of their own group, often right beside in the next room; an exception is for counsellors of the youngest group who will sleep in the room with the children. This makes it possible to ensure constant assistance, even at night.
Does my child need to bring towels?
Yes, we ask that bathroom linen (bathrobe, face/hand and bidet towels) be provided by parents because it is important to be absolutely personal and recognizable by the participant.
Does my child need to bring shampoo/soap?
Yes, we ask that personal hygene products (shampoo, soap, bubble bath) be provided by the parents. We prefer that they bring trusted products from home, which they are already accustomed to, in order to respect the dermatological sensitivity of children and teens.
5. ENROLLMENT AND FORMS

10. DIET
What will the diet be like at Camp?
The stay includes full board with a varied, balanced and healthy menu, with a focus on organic products and locally grown foods.
If my child has food intolerances or allergies could this be a problem?
No, however, it is important to communicate this in writing, including all the information in the application.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Yes, any food allergies or intolerances must necessarily be justified by a valid medical certificate.
Please note: in case the medical certificate is not produced the directions given by you cannot be followed.
11. HEALTH CARE
My child is undergoing medical treatment, can he/she continue it during his/her stay at Camp?
Yes, in this case the family must communicate these directions in writing (to internationalcamp@sancelso.com) at least one week before the start of the stay, provide medication and a valid medical certificate with a clear dosage.
We clarify that the Camp’s health care is general and when needed the Camp uses a private pediatrician and local hospital care; in any case, communication with the family will be clear and prompt.
12. VALUABLES AND MONEY
What about valuables (headphones, money, video games, MP3 players, cell phones, cameras, GoPro…)?
We do not recommend bringing valuables with you: if you do, however, it is recommended that you always hand them over to the Camp secretary for safekeeping.
Please note: we are not responsible in case of theft, loss or damage of participants’ personal items in case of failure to do so. In any case, Management is not responsible for any items at the time they are handed over to the participant for use or at the time of packing and traveling to or from home.
What about money?
Money for small personal expenses (pocket money) will be kept in the secretary’s office and given in small amounts (€ 5 – € 10) to participants.
How much money to bring for small personal expenses - pocket money?
The fee is at the discretion of the parents; we suggest an amount of € 50 per week.
Personal expenses are defined as the small expenses that each participant incurs during the vacation, for example: food and drinks at the bar, entrance to museums and shows, any personal medications, etc.
At the end of the Camp, participants will be given a statement of their personal expenses, and what they have not spent will be returned to them and placed in their suitcases at the time of departure: from then on, the participant him/herself will be responsible for it.
13. PHOTOS
Can I see photos of my child?
During the Camp stay, photos will be posted daily on Facebook in the private group dedicated to parents of participants; two security questions must be answered to gain access.
Please note: photos will be generic and specific requests from parents CANNOT be fulfilled, as the collection of photographic material is considered accessory to the conduct of the Camp and subordinate to the activities. Therefore, we ask for your patience and understanding in case your son/daughter does not appear every day in the photographs: we assure parents that the participant is still having fun!
Personal data of photographic and/or video type may be used by Sancelso srl for information and advertising purposes (e.g. social), including publication in the press and on the website “www.internationalcamp.it”.

What is the phone number of the Camp facility - Villa Sancelso?
Here it is: +39 0346 60051. You can contact us during the summer camp from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
For any needs please contact us via e-mail; e-mails will be processed within the day. We ensure during the entire period of the Camp a prompt contact with parents.
Can I talk to my child?
It will only be possible to talk to the participant during the dedicated time for phone calls between about 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., after dinner and before evening activities, by calling the facility (+39 0346 60051) or by contacting the child’s cell phone directly.
We believe that this policy of ours is essential to ensure that the children can enjoy themselves and fully learn during their holiday, without distractions and in complete safety.
Our advice, based on years of experience, is not to make phone calls every day in order to promote proper inclusion of the participant. In fact, often during the phone call home there is an “emotional peak” encouraged by vocal contact with the parent, but this is by no means a mirror of the participant’s daily routine.
In case of emergency, it will be our concern to establish immediate telephone contact with the parents.
Can I talk to the Management?
Yes, the Camp managers are always available.
Can I speak with my child’s counsellors?
Yes, our counsellors are always available: feel free to ask to be put in touch with them during phone call hours (between about 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.).
15. CANCELLATION POLICIES

Yes, but in case of cancellation the participant must pay:
- 50% of the fee if the withdrawal is communicated in writing up to 30 days before the beginning of the stay;
- 100% of the fee if the withdrawal is communicated in writing after that date.
Can I cancel my child’s stay while he/she at the Camp?
Yes, parents (or their guardians) have the option to cancel the stay at any time and for any reason, such as: sudden alternative vacation, family problems, bereavement, or in case of alleged dissatisfaction of the participant. Even in the latter case, the Management, aware of its own proper functioning, the long and deep experience gained and offered, the complete fulfillment of the services offered, and the proper functioning of its counsellors, will not be responsible for any refund claims.
If my child has to be removed from the Camp for disciplinary reasons am I entitled to a refund?
In case the participant violates the Rules and Regulations (downloadable from the “Download Area” section of the website) the family will not be entitled to any refund; moreover, in this case the Management has no obligation to provide for the organization and expenses of the participant’s return trip (in case it has to provide, the family will be charged a return trip expense of € 180 – cab service).
Is it possible to insure my vacation?
We recommend that you activate coverage to protect against cancellation penalties.
Our suggestion is CARE4UHOTEL, which, in addition to protection from cancellation, offers assistance and support for your stay, such as in the case of trip interruption, involuntary vacation extension, or inconvenience during your stay.
